Enrollment Process

Thank you for expressing your interest in becoming a part of our Life International Academy Family. We operate as a micro-school with an initial plan to admit only 40 students in the first year from grades 1st-5th. We have plans for gradual expansion, increasing the number of seats in the following years, and growing organically, one grade at a time, up to 8th Grade. Applying for future grades guarantees priority consideration. Below is a brief outline of our Admission Process:

  1. Application

Submit a New Student Application form (here).

2. Scholarships

Apply for the Florida Step-up government scholarships program if you haven't applied yet. As of July 2023, All Florida residents are eligible for Scholarships to  attend private schools regardless of household income. Apply at:  https://www.stepupforstudents.org                                     

    3. Visit

Schedule an on-campus family interview. It is preferable if children can attend the family visit. 

   4. Shadow

Students will be scheduled to spend the day at the school for a shadow observation day.

   5. Decision

A decision letter (accepted, rejected, or waitlisted) will be sent to families along with an option to apply for LIA Financial Aid for qualified students who are accepted.

   6. Registration

Accepted families will have seven (7) calendar days (including weekends) to accept or decline the enrollment offer and to submit the registration payment and students required documents to complete Enrollment. 

Required documents: 

  • Student health records including medical, physical, and immunization fo​​rm

  • Student's birth certificate

  • Most recent Report Card

  • Standardized testing report.

  • Passport-sized photo

    7. Orientation

Attend school orientation and meet your child teacher prior to school opening.

ADMISSIONS CONSIDERATIONS

Life International Academy seeks to admit students and families who are aligned with our school’s Mission & Core Values, and who will engage and support our LifeIA community.​ Admission is based on selective criteria including: the family interview, the student’s shadow visit day; prior academic record; teacher recommendation(s); developmental readiness; suitability to our school-specific village spaces, and standardized assessments. The admissions committee will also consider evidence of the applicant’s potential for success in our Montessori and Life Based Skills programs.
